SHE MAROONS SECURE SEMI FINALS SLOT WITH AN EASY 3-1 WIN PAST AJAX QUEENS IN THE FWEL QUARTER FINALS 2021

She-Maroons Football Club thrashed Ajax Queens 3-1 as they head into the Semifinals of the FUFA Women Elite League.

Millicent Namwembe scored twice in the first 13 minutes converting Naluyima's cross and then firing a rebound after Anita's cross was slightly punched away while Babirye Anita herself scoring the other.

The dominance started as early as the second minute in to the game when Millicent Namwembe slotted the ball past goalkeeper Pamela Nakayondo after being assisted by Kauthara Naluyima credit to her smartly intelligent set up.

Five minutes later, Anita Babirye made it 2-0 striking a 25 yards volley on the right wing past Nakayondo who was caught un aware, totally off guard as she looked trembled.

Millicent completed the brace of the day after goal keeper Nakayondo was again beaten by Babirye's long range cross putting theua ladies 3-0 up after only 13 minutes of actual play. Millicent further pushes her goal tally to five goals in four appearances so far becoming the leagues top goal scorer.

Adong, Naggayi and Naluyima's midfield partnership continued to yield fruits producing numerous passes, interceptions, challenges and tackles in ma
ny circumstances of the game winning over the opposition ball possession.

Nanjobe volleyed for Ajax Queens in the 67th Minute to wrap up the game with an impressive sublime over Akujo Esther.

Substitute Nassali and Kyomugisha added value to the Prisons Queens winning more attacks and shots at goal while Akullu ZamZam almost made it four after failing to connect with Kyomugisha in the 83rd minute. Nassali also fired wide in the 86th with only keeper to beat.

Looking much more improved towards the end of the game, Ajax Queens’ comeback slowly faded away as the count down towards the 90th minute mark of the game couldn't save them and in the end sent packing by the Prisons Queens.

Babirye Joelia, Najjuko Justin, Najjunju Lydia and Nantongo Diana's backline remained solid through out the game, Adong Jackline produced a lighting performance in the defending midfield role.

She-Maroons missed the services of skipper Sarah Nalwadda and left back Peace Janet Munduwandi who succumbed to injuries who are expected to return in the next level, shot-stopper Brenda Adongo will also be expected to join the camp after passing the final fitness test.

She-Maroons FC will now face Wakiso Hills WFC whom they defeated 2-1 in the group stages of the tournament courtesy of Kyomugisha Winnie's brace.

She Maroons started Esther Akujo in goal, Lydia Najunju, Justine Najjuko, Dianah Nantongo and Joelia Babirye to complete the back line while Jackline Adong, Joan Naggayi and Kauthar Naluyima entertaining the midfield and the finally Anita Babirye, Millicent Namwembe and Veronica Lillian Masinde completing the attacking treble.

Kyomugisha Winnie, Nassali Jacky and Akullu ZamZam later substituted Naluyima, Masinde and Babirye Anita respectively.
