Maroons FC have earned a great win that saw many team players perform really well against Busoga United this afternoon in Luzira, despite missing the services Samson Kigozi, Brian Nkuubi and Abraham Tusubira.
Maroons came out with some energy and showed as they ran roughshod most of game thrashing their opponents 5-0 and controlling majority of possessions and chances created.
In the 11th minute, the goal galore started when Fred Amaku pulled off a cute backheel flick with his back to goal to lay the ball off to un marked Isaac Mpagi.
The small bodied debutante returned the favour to find the last defender dart into the box, and slotted easily past goalie straight into the back of net.
5 minutes later, Busoga United got caught upfield and Solomon Walusimbi found Fred Amaku.
He drove inside from the right, performed a few stepovers, and poked into the bottom left corner with the outside of his right foot with a delightful finish to make it 2-0.
In the 24th minute, Solomon Walusimbi almost came close when he jinked past the opponents defender before unleashing a 20-yard drive that flicked off the outside of the post and behind
leaving the Busoga United goalie with no chance.
2 minutes after, Maroons added another goal when Isaac Mpagi sizeed up Solomon Walusimbi near the touchline before rolling it to an unmarked Fred Amaku on the edge of the box.
The skillful forward took a touch, before lashing a fierce header into the top left corner demolishing the visitors 3-0 at Halftime.
Upon return back from the changing room, Simon Tamale saved a penalty with a brilliant smart watch catch denying the guests a chance for a consolation.
At 71, Maroons broke from substitute Noel Nassasira's weak shot.
The hosts swept forward with a move that culminated with Solomon Walusimbi lashing a fierce rebound into the top corner from inside small box with a sublime shot to make it 4 nil.
Un stoppable Nassasira made it 5-0 at 76 minutes for Maroons when Godwin Kitagenda sent in a stunning cross with the outside of his left foot that reaches Noel, he waited to turn it in from close range sending the crowd in an ecstasy at full-time.
